S&P rebaja los 'ratings' de Bank of America, Merrill Lynch y Lehman Brothers

Las malas noticias nunca vienen solas, y en el sector financiero estadounidense este dicho está tomando especial sentido. La agencia de ratings Standard & Poor's ha revisado a la baja sus calificaciones para Bank of America y Merrill Lynch, entidades cuya fusión anunciaron hoy para hacer frente al impredecible impacto que tendrá el anuncio de bancarrota del tercer protagonista de la jornada, Lehman Brothers, que ha visto también reducidos sus ratings tras este anuncio
En concreto, S&P redujo la calificación crediticia a largo plazo de Lehman a 'SD' desde 'A', lo que supone pasar de 'calidad buena, media-alta' a 'situación de insolvencia'. La agencia precisó que este rating se debe al anuncio de la compañía de acogerse al capítulo 11 del código de bancarrota de EE UU.
Yo me pregunto, después de una quiebra, para que vale rebajar el Rating?. Ya lo podían haber hecho ante no les parece?
