Aunque la "@" es familiar para los usuarios de correo electrónico, el término se pronunciada en inglés "at" y si se extiende el sonido de la "T" suena como "ai ta", o "le quiero", según los hablantes de mandarín.
Li no dijo si las autoridades habían aceptado el nombre, pero este mismo año había anunciado que el Gobierno había prohibido nombres que usaban numerales o idiomas extranjeros y símbolos que no pertenecen a las lenguas de la minoría china.
